Orchard Mist, Towards the Ash Tree

Orchard Mist, Towards the Ash Tree

Behind my home studio is an old orchard on the edge of a wood, surrounded by lowland heath, that sits above an underground stream running from the loch. One very early summer morning I went up to retrieve a bat detector for a survey, it was thick with mist and glowing spectacularly with pale blue light. The huge veteran ash tree looked spectacular looming out of the mist with a deer just visible beneath.
